The BFS Jack Stonnell Memorial Scholarship

Awarded each fall to the rising junior pursuing a degree with the School of Film and Photography with highest cumulative grade in the following four courses:

  • Film 100 Introduction to Film

  • Film 101 Understanding Film Media

  • Film 201 Film History - Origins - 1960

  • Film 202 Film History - 1960 - Present

 

Dr. Jack Stonnell (1930-2019) joined the faculty of Montana State College in 1957 to help establish a Film and TV Department. Employed as professor of cinema at MSC/MSU for the next 34 years, he was Instrumental in keeping the MSU Film Department from relocating to Missoula in the late 1970's and co-founded the Bozeman Film Festival aka Bozeman Film Society in the early 1970's.

2022 RECIPIENT
